Thoughtful tourism design—one that respects natural resources and supports local communities—is key to creating sustainable, high-value destinations.

Ecotourism embraces activities that exist in harmony with nature. It actively involves local communities in preserving their shared cultural and natural heritage, while supporting small-scale, high-quality local businesses. In turn, this strengthens local economies and enhances the overall attractiveness and liveability of a region.

The concept is simple. But for ecotourism destinations to truly succeed, they require clear, coherent strategies.

Advising stakeholders on ecotourism strategies (design)

We conduct in-depth studies to identify the factors that support resilient and responsible tourism in each region. Through a participatory approach, we work closely with stakeholders to co-create ecotourism strategies that enable diverse activities while preserving natural ecosystems.

By focusing on relatively low-cost, high-impact infrastructure—such as trails, protective measures, and interpretive signage—we help destinations attract both domestic and international visitors. At the same time, we encourage meaningful interactions between visitors and local communities, fostering a deeper connection to the place, its people, and its natural environment.

Educating destination leaders (training)

We empower destination leaders with the knowledge and tools needed to guide sustainable tourism development. Through targeted facilitation and training, we foster collaboration between local communities, organisations, and policymakers, helping them align around a shared vision. We support the creation and training of local task forces dedicated to protecting and maintaining their natural and cultural heritage.

At the same time, we raise awareness around key ethical, environmental, and cultural issues, ensuring that tourism development remains responsible, inclusive, and rooted in local identity.

Building a common heritage (implementation)

We translate strategy into action by working hand-in-hand with local communities to develop and enhance their natural and cultural assets.

Our work includes mapping and signposting routes and points of interest for a wide range of nature-based activities, making destinations more accessible and engaging. We oversee construction processes in the field, ensuring that all interventions are sustainable and context-sensitive.

From route development and maintenance to nature protection, we help safeguard the very resources that make each destination unique—while creating meaningful experiences for visitors.

Spreading the word for new destinations (Promotion & support)

We help emerging destinations find their voice and reach the right audiences. Through distinctive branding rooted in ecotourism values, we shape authentic destination identities. We develop and manage digital tools—including websites, social media, information kiosks, and event platforms—to communicate these identities effectively.

We also integrate content with existing platforms and build strong networks at both local and global levels. By organising events and festivals that connect urban and rural communities, and by designing itineraries and volunteering opportunities, we increase visibility while supporting conservation efforts.

Beyond launch, we provide ongoing support with fundraising and technical expertise to ensure a long-lasting impact.
